A Midsummer Night's Dream with Archway Theater Company

A Midsummer Night’s Dream is a classic that many of us have either seen performed or read for an English class (most definitely for a drama class).
“The title draws on the summer solstice, Midsummer Eve, occurring June 23 and marked by holiday partying and tales of fairies and temporary insanity. Shakespeare cleverly weaves together not only fairies and lovers, but also social hierarchies with the aristocratic Theseus and the “rude mechanicals,” or the artisans and working men.
This allows the play to become infinitely more lyrical, since it is able to draw on the more brutal language of the lower classes as well as the poetry of the noblemen.”
This is a fantastic play to take on during the Summer, especially for a company like Archway Theater Company (and that is just what they’re doing)!
Some incredible Los Angeles based actors and I were proud to do a free performance of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” on August 16th for Warner Ranch Park’s “Shakespeare on the Green” event and are equally excited to officially open this September at Woodbury University!
